Philosophy of Ministry: Exerpt from “The 2nd Cup of Coffee” weekly email newsletter, Pastor Jay Hanson, The Chapel, Brunswick, GA
How about, for the next 10 days, devote one day to each of these philosophies. Spend time reading the accompanying scriptures, pray about and plan how you can carry out this philosophy in your day, and really do it!
1. My ministry will only be as effective as my personal walk with God (Matthew 6:33)
2. Never get ahead of God – Prayer is the key (Mark 9:17-29)
3. Present the Gospel in everything I do, and use words when necessary (Matthew 28:19-20)
4. My primary ministry is to my family (I Timothy 3:5)
5. Expect lives to be changed (Acts 2:21)
6. Expect persecution and resistance (Mark 13:13, II Corinthians 11:23-28)
7. Never compromise on quality – God deserves our best. (I Peter 1:15-16)
8. Never forget to what I am called – Ministry (Luke 4:18-19)
9. Always remember that it is a personal thing to God (Mark 5:21-34)
10. Always give God the credit (Mark 10:27)
